Is the war on drugs immoral?

Ethan Nadelmann of the Drug Policy Alliance explains why he opposes the War on Drugs and what he is doing to attempt to end it. According to Nadelmann, the current approach to drug policy in the U.S. is unnecessarily punitive and prohibitionist, and is in fact immoral. He challenges what he calls the prevailing, moralistic idea that there is essentially no permissible relationship between individuals and certain substances.
